I've talked about this before but it bears repeating. The weeks before Easter or Christmas are probably the most intense for a church musician or worship leader. And one of the challenges is fitting in an orchestral rehearsal during Holy Week or the week of Christmas Eve.
Believe it or not, the solution is to NOT do your "dress" rehearsal that week, particularly if you aren't able to hire pro players. Instead have an extended rehearsal at your regular time the previous week.
There are two benefits to this. First, your life will be less frantic. Second, you have a week's time to fix problems that arise in the dress rehearsal.
