Worship Participation

Congregational participation...or, pandemic aside, the lack thereof...is one of the great laments of the modern church. Some say it is because the old folks don't like the new music. Some say it is because the young folks don't like the old music.

Then there's this technological thing, particularly in the big cities, where it is safer/easier/hipper to live according to your own soundtrack...through headphones of course. [Side note...we are beginning to see the first evidence that the plugged in generation will also be an "early deaf" generation...sigh...] Plus we now all expect to be "entertained" rather than to participate.

One of the ways I've found to increase congregational participation is to include a wide variety of music in worship. As I have developed this system, I created my Repertoire Pyramid, which gives me (and it can give you) a real framework to integrate different kinds of music style into a congregation's worship. Here's the rub though...the only way you can get my Repertoire Pyramid, is to get my eBook The Choir in Modern Worship. I think the book is worth it for this one thing alone, but it's just one of many...

Pick up a copy this week...you'll be glad you did...
